Periodontal Procedures

Where a conservative approach leads to a lifetime of periodontal health.

At SIPI, we are committed to providing you with services that others can’t! We aim to provide periodontal and implant care in the most predictable, conservative, and efficient manner.

With advanced technology, we offer our patients conservative treatment options even in complex situations. Patients benefit from shortened treatment times, quicker healing, and enhanced comfort.

  • Dental Implants

Dental implants are used to replace tooth roots. Implants provide a strong foundation for fixed or removable replacement teeth.

  • Laser Periodontal Surgery

The procedures performed with dental lasers are minimally invasive and preferable to conventional surgery. Lasers in dentistry allow for many periodontal procedures to be performed with no noise, minimal pain, less bleeding, faster recovery times and fewer appointments.

  • Gum Grafting

If gum recession is present and tooth roots are exposed, a gum graft may be recommended. This procedure is used to control and prevent further gum recession and subsequent damage to the surrounding teeth and bone structure.

  • Bone Grafting

Bone grafting may be required to address defects in a patient’s jaw. Bone grafting is a form of reconstructive surgery that helps to generate and rebuild bone and increase bone density.

  • Bone Regeneration

The specialists at SIPI routinely stimulate your body to grow bone where there is none. This enables us to place implants in patients who have been told they are not good implant candidates.

  • Extractions

If you have a tooth that is cracked or needs to be extracted, visit our office so we can replace that tooth with an implant and a crown the very same day! Nobody leaves our office with a visible tooth missing.

  • Crown Lengthening

Crown lengthening involves the removal of gum tissue and/or bone to expose more of a tooth’s structure.

  • Biopsy

Any concerns with the skin in the mouth, a sore that is not healing properly or a lump on the inside of the cheeks, palate, gums or lips may merit a biopsy so that the tissue sample can be tested for oral cancer. Please do not ignore these warning signs and mention any concerns you may have during your visit.

  • Pocket Depth Reduction

Periodontal disease develops when plaque spreads below the gum line and causes the tissue and bone that support the teeth to decay. The gums then separate from the teeth and form what are known as periodontal pockets which can become infected, leading to loss of tissue and bone.

  • Scaling and Root Planing

When it comes to periodontal therapy, we almost always begin with a non-invasive approach that consists of scaling and root planing (deep cleaning) in lieu of more aggressive treatment.

  • Periodontal Maintenance Program

We will recommend a periodontal maintenance program that is best for you based on how quickly you develop calculus and your past and current periodontal health. During your maintenance visits we will perform an oral examination as well as a dental cleaning.

  • Sedation Dentistry

Imagine undergoing a complex dental treatment like a root canal, extraction, or oral surgery. When your treatment is complete, you have no recollection of the time it took, the pain, the noise, or the discomfort you were expecting. We are pleased to offer our patients the option of comfortable, safe, and effective sedation dentistry.
